Chronology of CSGO Greatness

We start all the way back to the first CSGO Major held in 2013 in Jönköping, Sweden, the hometown of DreamHack. Fnatic wins the first official CSGO major and goes downwardly in history. The core of that team would keep to be known every bit being one of the well-nigh dominant teams ever, in what would be dubbed the "Fnatic Era" years after. They would go on to win 2 more majors in 2015 with olofmeister, JW, KRIMZ, flusha and pronax. The players volition become on to crown several best CSGO players lists as the years went by.

The torch was then passed to the Brazilians, Luminosity. Led by IGL and AWPer FalleN and gun virtuoso coldzera, they would see an incredibly exciting rise to the peak which culminated in one the best semi-finals of all fourth dimension between Luminosity and Liquid, creating this iconic clip.

Subsequently winning the MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016, they went back to back and won ESL I: Cologne 2016 facing off against Liquid in the 1000 Finals. These 2 Majors in a row would dub that time as the LG/SK era.

The following years were packed with storylines surrounding the victories of Astralis, Gambit and Cloud9 in 2017 and 2018. So we were so thrown into the seemingly endless Astralis era, where they won an unprecedented 3 Majors in a row. With the players overcoming everything they did, it was nearly incommunicable to accept perfected the game the manner they did. They dominated so difficult that other teams simply did not stand up a chance, leading some to think their playstyle was boring.

As the pandemic dawned, we moved into the online era, with CSGO Majors taking a back seat to online events and tertiary party tournaments filling the gap in competitive play. CIS teams similar NaVi and Gambit are taking turns dominating the scene, and are the master favorites in CSGO gambling for winning the side by side major.

We are officially in the NAVI era as they seek to proceed their authorisation in 2022. We can expect their closest contenders next major to be G2 Esports and FaZe Clan. More teams will look to make their marker on the history of the game. Since information technology has been and then long coming, whoever wins in PGL  this fall will not be forgotten.
